Steps of Life: 25 Years of the School that Dances is a documentary that traces the journey of a school that, for a quarter of a century, has pulsed in the heart of Santa Bárbara d’Oeste. Born from the legacy of a pioneer — the founder of the city’s first dance school — and now led by her daughter, this story spans generations, weaving dreams through threads of tradition, art, and affection.
More than just a place of learning, the school is a home for encounters and transformations. The documentary dives into the experiences of students, teachers, and collaborators, revealing how dance intertwines with their lives, shaping achievements, resilience, and deep bonds. Through festivals, social projects, and solidarity movements, a community emerges where each step echoes a sense of belonging.
Produced by the Laboratório da Dança Fernanda Araújo, the project is supported by resources from the Paulo Gustavo Law, through the Ministry of Culture, Federal Government, Municipal Department of Culture and Tourism, and the City of Santa Bárbara d’Oeste.
